
Nicola Styan
Nicola’s prints relate to the theme of location and environment. Her screen prints are an imaginative response to a changing cityscape in London involving recent constructions, historic buildings, bridges and locations. They are a celebration of past and present infrastructure that defines the identity of London’s historical buildings and icons. The documentation of changing structures in environmental conditions is ongoing in her work.Her work portrays how atmospheric conditions can dominate locations to present an impressive visual spectacle that is reflected through the use of dynamic colour and abstract form. She has continuously exhibited at regional and London galleries. Nicola has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art- Printmaking from Winchester School of Art and an MA in Printmaking from Brighton University. She also has a PGCE from the Institute of Education. Nicola led the printmaking department and taught printmaking at the Working Men’s College, in Camden Town, London for ten years.
