Loraine Monk​

Loraine Monk’s visual arts practice derives from a sense of place and community. Originally a painter, she now creates images using both relief printing, both lino and woodcuts, as well as using etching and aquatint processes.
Her family were working-class Londoners, her background has influenced her politics, research, and artistic practice..
The inspiration for her works includes exploring protests, iconic women, found portraits in old photos, and, inspired by the Climate Crisis: depictions of Animals: wolves, foxes, dogs, deer, birds: swans, herons, crows, eagles, trees, and water..
She has exhibited in several independent Galleries, group shows and museums, as well as larger mixed shows, including the International Original Print Exhibition, the Society of Women Artists and the Woolwich Contemporary Print fair.
She has exhibited in London, Brighton, Sweden and Germany and is a member of the Printmakers Council,UK.
