
KATIE PRESTON
KATIE PRESTON is a printmaker whose screenprinting practice combines technical processes with intuitive mark-making. She studied Maths and Philosophy at university and worked as an editorial director in illustrated non-fiction publishing for 20 years before completing a Foundation art diploma in 2019. She has been screenprinting ever since, always searching for new ways to create her vivid, multi-layered limited edition prints.Starting with photographs of the world around her in London, Katie’s prints create a technicolour version of everyday life, from trees, paths and park gates to bridges, streets and stations, all influenced by her love of Japanese woodblock prints and children’s book illustrations.Katie is a member of ArtCan, an international arts organisation providing opportunities and fair payment for artists. She is also a director of Common Works Gallery CIC, which organises arts events in Wimbledon, and teaches screenprinting at Putney School of Art and Design.
