Sarah Broughton is a printmaker who likes to develop her printmaking every time she prints. She experiments with new ways of mark making and works in a variety of media. Working in this way gives her a broader resource and variety of marks that she can use in her prints. This experimental approach can produce ‘happy accidents’ and the unexpected in her work. Line, simplicity of shape, texture, colour and the observation of small details are all evident in her prints. The subjects of her work are landscapes and natural forms all of which usually have a personal connection in some way.
Sarah has a BA Hons (1st) in two dimensional design, and has worked as an illustrator and visiting university lecturer.
