The panoramic view of the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi is one of the most iconic images of Florence. But what fascinated me was the elevated and secluded passageway that runs above the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi connecting the Palazzo Vecchio and the Palazzo Pitti, called the Vasari Corridor. It allowed the powerful and wealth Medici family to move freely and securely between their palace and the town hall.
This print is a true reflection of my career as a banker; not only are the colours those of a bank note (£5 note precisely) but also it reflects my fascination with the Medici family who were the first bankers in the world. This print has won me several awards including one at the Chelsea Art Society where a banker selected it for the prize for Artistic Innovation. It takes a banker to recognise the work of another!
