The Glass Roof at Hay’s Galleria, Tooley Street in the London Bridge Area is a bold architectural statement between the lighter coloured warehouses of Hay’s Wharf, one of the main delivery points for ships delivering tea and other produce in the 19th century. Previously called the “Larder of London” as at its peak, 80 per cent of dry goods imported into London passed through the Wharf. Badly damaged during the 1941 Blitz, it continued to operate until its closure in 1970 and the urban regeneration of the Thames Corridor in the 1980s led to its redevelopment into the retail, residential and leisure space that you see today. The layering of the dark steel frame over the full print gives the overall image a deeper perspective and highlighting how new and old structures can be harmoniously integrated into an impressive space.
This print is a 3 D print and only sold framed.
