This scene has been with me for over 10 years, initially as a linocut during my very early days as a printmaker. This year I found the old photograph and the linocut and decided to recreate the image in a multi-plate, multi-coloured etching.  It was a new challenge for me to infuse colour in my work and it took 6 months from the working drawing to the final finished print. The challenge was layering of the inks several times to get that rich depth of colour in the rich green foliage. reminiscent of the jungle of my childhood in North Borneo (Sabah).
